Smith pinned Shelton Humphries of Vernal and was pinned by Craig Phillips of West in the championship contest. Ryan Siddoway defeated Robin Flowers of Green River and was downed by Shane Frost, West, 8-1, in the first place battle. David Gurr, a member of Vernal's B team, dropped Tee Jay Rose of Rangely for a takedown in the first round, but Rose gained a reversal and a two-point near fall in the second round for a 4-2 lead. A reversal and a three-point three-point near fall late in the third round gave Gurr a 7 to 5 advantage. However, Rose gained a reversal and a two-point near fall in the final seconds for a 9-7 victory in the 75 pound championship contest.
