Show Shooting results In felony arrest Vernal City Police responded to a report of an accidental shooting Monday night, March 10 at 1179 East Highway 40. Upon reaching the scene, police found Chris Fehrenbach, 28, had received a gunshot wound to the upper arm, reported Sgt. Robert Downard, Vernal City Police Department. The alleged accident occurred from a gun shot by ' T.J. Grayson, 28. After investigation by Vernal detectives, four shots were found to have been fired in the house. One of the last two shots wounded Fehrenbach and was fired after an argument over the other shots, reported police. T.J. Grayson was charged with aggravated assault. It was later found that Grayson is a restricted person with a forceable felony in another state, and isn't allowed to possess firearms. He was also charged with a third degree felony and bail set at $5,000. Fehrenbach was transported to Salt Lake City for treatment. Investigating officers were Sgt. Robert Downard, Det. Mel Curtis and Officer Brown. At 6:04 p.m. March 7 Officer Paul Parker responded to a shoplifting call at Gibsons in Vernal. After arresting Theodore William Rants Jr., 23, Rants was found in possession of a controlled substance. He was also in possession Of another's identification and fraudulant pawn slips from the Hasty Pawn Shop, reported Sgt. Downard. Rants was charged with fraud; a third degree felony. In unrelated incidents, Daniel J. Gardner was arrested for drunk driving and Dennis M. Trujillo, 33, was arrested for public intoxication. |
