Show City plans hearing on Air Village extensions Upon the advice of City Attorney Richard Davidson, the city council decided March 4 to hold a hearing for persons receiving water from extensions ex-tensions from the Air Village Hills subdivision. From the hearing, city councilmen will decide whether to service the extensions, which the city claims are a breech of contract. The extensions include the initial extension to Coltnn McKeachnie and the more recent extension to the Berle Bell and the William Holfeltz residences. The action from the council stems from an earlier move by the council to turn the water off at Air Village if the situation wasn't corrected by February 26. With the deadline passed and added extensions made, councilmen took a softer attitude than the previous council which moved to turn the water off, but they still maintain that the extensions are a breech of a contract between the city and Air Village Hills. According to officials of the Ashley Valley Water and Sewer Improvement District, the extensions were made by the Ashley Valley Water and Sewer District with the Air Village Hills system acting as carrier of the water to the extensions, thus they are not a breech of contract. The council didn't indicate when or where the hearing would be held. In other matters, Ken Fisher presented to the council a growth policy and 500 E. 100 S. was rezoned to C-2. Nine new business licenses were approved, and Bert Angus was reinstated rein-stated to the building committee. |
