Uintah and Provo were tied at the end to lie first quarter, 14 to 14. Provo had a five-point lead of 25 to 20 after two quarters. The Bulldogs increased their lead to eight points, 37 to 29, in the third garter. Uintah outscored Provo, 17 to ill, in the fourth quarter, but Provo won 'the ball game, 48 to 46. Teresa Smith popped in six points and Pennie Murray added five points. Jodene Merkley and Kim Hamblin scored two points each. Uintah fired in 18 field goals and hit 10 out of 18 free throws. Provo tossed in 17 field goals and hit 14 out of 27 free throws. Uintah battled Carbon, Wednesday (yesterday) at 6:30 p.m. in Davis High School. Carbon finished in fifth place in Region Six. They were defeated by Ogden in the first round, 72 to 37. A win by Uintah would place them in a 1:30 p.m. Friday contest . |
