Show Commercial airline traffic for February Frontier Airlines February traffic at the Vernal Municipal Airport showed a marked decrease when compared with the same period last year, according to figures released by Gary Osadchuk, station manager. On the four daily flights into Vernal 441 passengers were inbound and 481 outbound during February. Last year 523 passengers were inbound and 541 outbound. Freight coming into the Vernal terminal ter-minal amounted to 23,897 pounds and leaving was 12,204 pounds. Last year 30,153 pounds arrived and 15,397 pounds were sent out during February. Osadchuk generalized that bad weather and the muddy conditions at oil well locations were probably responsible responsi-ble for the decrease in passengers and freight for Frontier at the Vernal terminal. ter-minal. TransWestern Airlines, with two dia-ly dia-ly flights into the Vernal airport, car- ried 68 passengers into the terminal and 85 left on outbound flights during February. TransWestern officials reported that ten cancellations involving Vernal flights were made due to bad weather conditions, during February. |
