Show Professor Carl Young Speaks At Aux. Meet Professor Carl Young of the B. Y. U. faculty addressed a meeting of the Legion Auxiliary on Wednesday Wednes-day evening of the past week, at Memorial hall. Mrs. Ruby Chris-tensen, Chris-tensen, unit president, was in charge, with Mrs. Emma Gardner arranging the program. Discussing one phase of national defense, Prof. Young gave a general gen-eral review of the- book, "Atomic Peace," explaining the attitude of various countries toward the views set forth in the book. During the evening, also, Mrs. Lela Packard entertained with vocal vo-cal numbers, accompanied by Mrs. Mary Bird at the piano, and Bob bie Hillis gave a vocal solo, with Mrs. Bird accompanist. Mrs. Floss Phillips reported on a recent visit of members to the veteran's vet-eran's hospital in Salt Lake City, where they spent the day doing hospital work. A total of 28 hours were contributed by the group,, composed of Mrs. Phillips, Mrs. Esther Johnson, Mrs. Delia Angus, Mrs. Delia Clark and Mrs.' Marge Frandsen. Mrs. Lela Nelson gave an interesting inter-esting report on the Women's Legislative Council meeting which she attended in Provo. At the close of the program refreshments re-freshments were served by the hostesses, Mrs. Mary Frandsen, Mrs. Beth Barrett, Mrs. Fern Whitney. |
