Show City Officials Consider Many Major Problems ill; Meet Several important affairs were discussed by the Springville Spring-ville city council in regular meeting Tuesday evening, according ac-cording to a report by Mayor Sterling Price; also additional appointments were made. Glen W. Sumsion was re-appointed city attorney, and Dr. W. G. Biesinger was appointed city physician. Appointment of a dog catcher was deferred until arrival of the license tags for dogs. It is announced that renewal of all licenses is due and payable immediately im-mediately at the city recorder's office. A special campaign is to be launched in the very near future to see that all dogs which do not have proper license tags be picked up. Another item which received the attention of the council was the matter of bicycle licenses. It is stated that there are so many bicycles being stolen and so many owners are asking for greater protection pro-tection that it is proposed the old ordinance of licensing bicycles and brazing a number on each, be strictly enforced. This as a means of identification. The council would like suggestions sent in on this subject. Many requests are also coming in for curb and butter. It is therefore there-fore proposed that a special curb and gutter district be established. It would have to be worked out on some basis which the city budget could stand, the mayor pointed ' out. He further asks the public for suggestions on such a project, and would like such statements in writing, addressed to him. In regard to revision of the city (Continued on Page Seventeen) City Officials Consider Many Major Problems (Continued from Page One) ordinances, it was pointed out at the council meeting that watering troughs and hitching posts have ceased to be a part of present-day conveniences and living modes, and there is necessity to revise such ordinances. Provision was made in the budget for the revision of the ordinances, and this work is expected to get underway in the rear future. Suggestions in regard re-gard to the work might help and would be appreciated, '"the city mayor announced. |
