Show Strawberry Jam Take 1 pound box quick-frozen sweetened sliced strawberries. Thaw as directed on package. Place in large saucepan over high heat. Add 3 tablespoons powdered fruit pectin. (Mix contents of package thoroughly before measuring. meas-uring. Have sugar measured in advance so jam does not overcook.) over-cook.) Stir until mixture comes to hard boil. Add all at once 1 cups sugar. "Bring to a full rolling boil and boil hard for 1 minute. Remove from heat, skim, pour quickly into glasses. Cover with melted paraffin paraf-fin at once. Makes 3 six-ounce glasses. |
