Show UTAH FACTORIES WILL EMPLOY 33,000 THIS YEAR Utah'- manufacturing industry expects to maintain 75 more employment throughout 1948 than during immediate prewar years, Ames K. "A truly gratifying aspect of Utah's postwar industrial development develop-ment has been diversification of expanding industries," Mr. Bagley said. "Although our most impressive impres-sive development is in the field of iron and steel and related products, pro-ducts, there is significant expanding expand-ing enterprises in a wide range of industries. , He called attention to the rubber rub-ber products plant at Nephi, gypsum gyp-sum plants at Sigurd, cement factory fac-tory at Devil's Slide, oil refineries in Salt Lake area, battery plants at Ogdnn, and manufacture of chemicals at Garfield, fertilizer south of Salt Lake City, silica at Murray, plaster at Cedar City and food processing at Ogden and Salt Lake City. Other varied and recent Utah industries include paint manufacturing, manufac-turing, smokeless fuel processing, aluminum fabrication. building materials production, dry ice manufacturing, man-ufacturing, and bakintr, bottling, excelsior and'clothing industries. |
