Mrs. Grant Lee Benson of Rexburg, Idaho, arrived here Tuesday evening for a visit with relatives and friends. Mrs. Benson attended the Columbia university at New York City during the summer and will teach in the high school at Rexburg during the coming term. Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Judd and family of Blackfoot, Idaho, returned to their home Tuesday after a short visit with relatives and friends here. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hale accompanied them on the return trip. Postmaster R. D. Hailaday went to Ogden Og-den on Thursday morning to attend the funeral of Postmaster W. W. Browning. Mrs. Frank Duri'ee and children of Hey-burn, Hey-burn, Idaho, are visiting relatives and friends here for a ehort time. Norman V. Barry of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Miss Lucy Hammond of Grantsville were married in Salt Lake on Thursday. Thurs-day. Miss Pearl Crawley entertained a party of girl friends at the Bluebird Wednesday Wednes-day evening. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hicks entertaied at dinner Monday evening in honor of Mrs. H. C. Hicks of Provo. The guests were Dr. and Mrs. J. A. PhiDpe, Dr. and Mrs. A. G. Gowans, Mr. and Mrs. William Tate. Dr. John Peck, Miss Daisy Gowans and j Miss Ruby Isgreen. Mr. and Mrs. Aquilla Benson and family, fam-ily, Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Liddell and family and Mr. and Mrs. John Painter, all of Stockton, were the guests of Mrs. A. G. Benson on Sunday. Ira R. Hatch returned home Tuesday evening from service with the marine corps in various parts of the country. Mr. Hatch was sent to Mare Island, California, Cali-fornia, upon enlistment and afterward was sent to Quantico, Ya. While awaiting a train for the embarkation port at Ho-boken, Ho-boken, N. J., for service in France, an order was received to send a detachment of men to the Danish West Indies and Mr. Hatch was assigned to that place. He was attached to the Eleventh marines and was mustered out of the service at Norfolk, Va., during the latter part of last month. The celebration given for the returned soldier boys Monday was the largest ever held in Grantsville, and all the returned soldiers and their parents and friends who could attend were present. The banquet ban-quet in the gymnasium was attended by more than 200, and the ball in the evening eve-ning filled the hall to overflowing. I HEBER CITY HEBER CITY, Aug. G. Mr. and mT j. O. Miss Hazel Thomas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Thomas, and William T. Bond were married in the Salt Lake temple Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Bond will be at home to their friends in Heber after October 1. The Misses Mary and Lola Hansen of Klverton are the guests of Miss Naomi Duke. Mrs. Augusta Anderson and Mrs. W. D. Johnston entertained Monday in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Nelson at the picture pic-ture show. Supper was served later at the home of Mrs. Johnston. MURRAY 4 MURRAY, Sept. 6. Miss Pearl Virginia Jensen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Jensen, and Linden K. Wood of Mendon were married in the Salt Lake temple at 4:30 p. m. Wednesday afternoon. In the evening a wedding supper and reception was given at the home of the bride's parents par-ents on Vine street in honor of the young couple. The bride's gown was of white Georgette crepe and lace, and she carried a shower bouquet of sweet peas and roses. The decorations in the living room and dining room were in asters, dahlias and ferns. After a short wedding trip the couple will be at home to their friends In Mendon. Miss Virginia Baker. Dorothea Baker and Lowell Baker, who have been visiting at the Atwood home for some time, left Friday for their home in Ogden. Misi Beatrice L. Baker was the scene of a pretty wedding Tuesday afternoon when their daughter. Miss Elsie, El-sie, became the bride of Raymond E. Larraby. The Rev. Asher H. Brand performed per-formed the ceremony, which was witnessed wit-nessed only by realtives. The home was attractively decorated with white asters. A two-course luncheon was served.
