Show Tl GUT LUMBER PUB. IS PLAN City Council of Pocatello, Idaho, Votes to Establish ; a Municipal Yard. Special to The Tribune. POCATELLO, Ida., Sept. 6. That the ,rople of Pocatello are paying too high a price for building material, particularly particu-larly lumber, was the substance of a report submitted to the city council last night by the special committee composed com-posed of Councilman Mullen, Peake, Davis and Campbell, appointed some i time a;o by Mayor W. P. Whitaker to investigate' lumber conditions in Poca-teJlo. Poca-teJlo. , ' The report stated "that the growth of the city is greatly hampered on account of the high prices of lum-i lum-i ber, as men are working in Pocatello and keening their families in other cities." . . The committee recommended a municipal munici-pal lumber yard for Pocatello, believing that lumber can be sold for two-thirds the present retail prices being paid by the people of the city. After hearing the report Councilman Mullen moved that it be accepted, and tho committee be directed to devise ways and means for the establishment of a municipal lumber yard for the citv. The motion was seconded by Councilman Foster, and the vote on the ' lumber vard question stood: Mullen, Davis, iiusk, Foster and Hill in favor of the vard, and Bistline, Caton and Hntson against. Two councilmen were not present at the time the vote was I taken.
