"Father" Taylor, the widely known pastor of the Seamen's Bethel in Boston, many years ago, at the zenith of his fame exchanged pulpits with Ralph Waldo Emerson, pastor of the Second Unitarian church. The exchange created a groat sensation, especially among "Father" Taylor's Methodist brethren, who went at him hammer and tongs. "Whv. what's the matter with Emerson?" ho asked them.
