Show PRIZES AWARDED FOR ' NEW BODY DESIGNS Willys-Overland Company Stages Contest Con-test to Get Most Artistic and Effective Types. Word has come to the Browning Auto & Supply company, local Willys-Overland Willys-Overland distributors, that Mary 'K. Cornwcllj a student of the New York school ot fine and applied art, has the distinction of winning the unusual contest con-test of Willys-Overland, Inc., for the mo?t effective and artistic combination of car and top design. A few weeks ao when tho contest was announced, students of the following schools qualified quali-fied as entrants: Now York School of ifine and Applied Art, Now York School of Applied Design for Women, Church School of Art of Chicago, Pennsylvania Pennsylva-nia School of Industrial Art of Philadelphia, Phila-delphia, and the Art Institute of Chicago. Chi-cago. Each student had the privilege of submitting sub-mitting three designs, and James II. Henrie, director of art of the New York City public schools, and Mrs. James W. Parker, chairman of department of art of Illinois Federation of Women's clubs, were selected as judges. S Besides the first prize, awarded to Mary B. Cornwell, a second prize went to Geraldine Egders of the Church School of Art. and a third prize to Anna G. Gallagher of the School of Industrial In-dustrial Art. |
