Show 148 OIL CLAIMS FILEOJ 8 DAYS Rangely Field Is Center of Interest in Shale Activity. Special to The Tribune. VERNAL, Feb. 2. During the last eight days there have been 146 oil locations loca-tions filed at the county recorder's office. of-fice. The center of the activity is in the shale located on White river, and in the Rangely field, where tho well was recently brought in on the property of the Emeral Oil company. T. W. Boyer, cashier of the Continental Continen-tal National bank, through John Glenn here, has located on sixty-seven claims on White river. This property contains shale as well as prospects for drilling operations. In addition to Mr. Boyer's party of Rock Springs, Wyo., business men are associated in the deal.
