Show KNIGHTS' FUND DRIVE 1 CONTINUES UNABATED Enthusiastic Reports Received Re-ceived From All Sections of State. An enthusiastic . meeting of the Knights of Columbus war fu,nd campaign cam-paign leaders was held at the Commercial Commer-cial club at noon yesterday, when encouraging en-couraging reports from all sections of the state were submitted by Thomas Homer, executive secretary,- and that Utah's contribution to the fund will exceed the quota of $25,000 was assured. as-sured. The campaign in Salt Lake continued con-tinued with unabated enthusiasm, and while it has been decided not to announce an-nounce the list of contributors until the close of the campaign, the managers man-agers sav that Salt Lake will do even more than her part. The solicitation yesterday met with instant response from ail . who were called upon, and some liberal contributions were made. It has been announced by the executive execu-tive committee that Manager Edward Lew of the OTpheum theater has tendered ten-dered the use of -his house, free of cost, for a second performance of "Rebecca of Snnnvbrook Farm," the films for which have generously been contributed con-tributed by Mary Pickford,' Monday and Tuesday, February 11 and 12. A special programme will at that time be presented, including a number of new picture features. The entire proceeds pro-ceeds as of the performance tomorrow and Tuesday of this week, will be devoted de-voted to swell the Knights of Columbus war fund. The reports from various cantonments, confirmed by my own . observation, bear eloquent evidence of results accomplished for the corufort of the men and for good morals in the camps. The work deserves the support and approval of all our people. The splendid soldiers who have been called from the homes of our land by the mandate man-date of the government to defend and vindicate the honor of America, Ameri-ca, are worthy of every care and solicitude. Those who contribute to this good work are helping to win the battles of our country. |
