Rabbi Meyer Berlin, president of the Mizrachi association, an organization of the orthodox Jewish faith, was the guest of Rabbi Samuel Baskin at his home yesterday. Rabbi Berlin is on his way to Denver to interest the members mem-bers of his faith in the Zionist movement, move-ment, which has for its object the rehabilitation re-habilitation of Palestine as a Jewish center. Rabbi Berlin is making efforts to establish es-tablish schools in Palestine for the education edu-cation of the Jewish colonists, of which there are forty different divisions. He declared that there are in Palestine now three high, schools in which only the Hebrew language is taught. Referring to the recent revolution in Russia, Rabbi Berlin said that the most beneficent result of it would be the liberation of 5,000,000 people from the terrible oppression which existed under the rule of the czar. The consequence of the war, he said, will be to give to all races the blessings j of liberty. The advantages of education ; consequent upon the recent deposition of the czar will be greatly increased. From 5 to 10 per cent only of all the Russian Rus-sian population had access to the schools previous to the change of gov-1 ernment.
