Show PAVING PLANS ARE HELD IN ABEYANCE Action on Cejiter Street Improvement Proposal Deferred for Week by City Commission. Action of the city commission on a proposed order to advertise notice of intention in-tention to pave Center street from Second Sec-ond Xorth street to Clinton avenue, Fifth North street from First to Second Sec-ond West street and Canyon road from Second to Third avenue' was deferred for one week yesterday morning. It was brought out that tbe city's share of the cost of the proposed improvement im-provement would amount to $20,410. From City Auditor E. A. Bock figures were had that showed the city's unappropriated unap-propriated surplus of funds to be $72,-000 $72,-000 at the present time. The amount is regarded as being so small as to make it inadvisable to undertake any special improvement, plan until some solution of the question of revenue has been devised de-vised and the matter nf the publication of the notice of intention to pave weDt over for a week upoti a motion offered by Commissioner Herman H. Greon. A delegation of property owners from Center street waited upon the commission commis-sion at yesterday morning's meeting, when the matter of tbe proposed paving was up for consideration, and voiced preference for bitulithic. paring over bituminous bi-tuminous concrete, recommended by the city engineer. The commission, however, how-ever, was disposed to stand by the recommendation rec-ommendation of the engineer. |
