In his suit against Cha rles P. Ta ft and others to recover ?65,555.55 and interest. Schmalstig, who was formerly confidential confiden-tial agent for Taft. claims the above amount is due as his share of the S00.-QftO S00.-QftO proceeds of the sale of 000 shares of the club's stock to Charles Weegh-man, Weegh-man, present o ner. Taft was former owner of the club. In his testimony Sehmalstlg declared that from 1905 to 1913. Inclusive, the profits of the club ranged from 100 to ItiO per cent, that in 914 the dividends dropped to 20 per cent and in 1915 to 5 .per cent, mainly because' the club was not a wi nning ha II team, and also had experienced a long siege of bad weather. In answer to his former agent's petition, peti-tion, Taft claims that there is dije but $625S. f0 to Sehmalstlg. The petition relates that the plaintiff paid Mr. Taft $10,576 for the stock which he held and that he received $S1,000 as his share of dividends from the same, the stock paying a total of S10 per cent from 1905 to inclusive. |
