Douglas vesterday afternoon from the war department de-partment directing that Captain H. B. Kprague's ambulance corps No. 27 of Salt Lake to proceed at once to Camp Grant, Kockford, 111., for training. The corns will leave Salt Lake Sunday. As soon as the order was received, the post quartermaster began making arrangements for transportation of the officers and men to Rockford. The orders came as welcome news to Captain Sprague and his men, who have been awaiting for weeks, wondering wonder-ing if they were ever going to be given an opportunity to go where they, -could be fully equipped and trained for service overseas. The Kockford camp is one of the division di-vision camps of the national army, and one of the largest of the northeastern training ca.mps. Captain Sprague and his men are getting in readiness to entrain en-train Sunday. |
