It was quoted at $1,005,- which is ITs cents over yesterday's price. Dollar silver has not been ?een in many decades. During the war the price has more than doubled, the metal having sold at 47 cents an ounce in November, 19H. j I The advance is due largely to heavy with- ) j drawals of gold from circulation to meet i i the financial situation which the war has I , developed, necessitating the substitution j 1 of silver. Production has not been in- i , creased and the supply from some sources ha been curtailed. j |
