ITumlreiU ot tickets were soM to the military fashion fash-ion show today by fourteen members of the Anieru-an Kcserve Militants, a patriotic, pa-triotic, organization of Ogrlca young women, who arc conducting two - tag days for the benefit of B battery's mess fund. The campaign is being directed di-rected by Frank M. L'riggs, chairman of the tirkct committee for the Fashion show organization. Costumed in khaki, with regulation soldier hat?, tiie young- women started their campaign this noon in the manufacturing manu-facturing and business districts, visiting visit-ing factories, wholesale and retail houses, banks, publi;; offices, office buildings, clubs and railroad shops. They reported in tho evening that they had found a general response to the appeal for ticket sales and that the campaign had brought hundreds of dollars dol-lars to the funds for the fashion show event. Another campaign will be conducted tomorrow, the young women starting their canvass of the city about 0 o'clock. The plan is to ask every man and woman who is in the business district dis-trict during the day to buy a tag, which will be the admittance ticket to the military spectacle at Gleuwood park during the evening. A meeting of the military fashion show committees was held this evening at the Weber club rooms, Chairman Charles H. Barton presiding. The reports re-ports by committee members showed that every step for the success of the event had been taken, with indications that more than 4000 people will be at the Gleuwood park grounds to witness the event. The parade, which will start at 7 o'clock, will be the largest patriotic parade ever held in the city, according to a report submitted bv Dr. R. Kanzier, the chairman. Immediately Immediate-ly on the disbanding of the parade, all the marchers will proceed to Glenwnori park for the remainder of the programme. |
