Show GEORGE 10! ABBOTT READY FOR SERVICE OGDEX, Sept. 14. George Lowe Abbott Ab-bott will be one of the Ogden selective draft men to leave with the second quota from this exemption district for American Lake, announcement to this effect having been made by Mayor Abbott Ab-bott R. Heywood, chairman of the exemption ex-emption board. Abbott visited the city hall during the day and akcd Mayor Heywood to designate him in case there was any vncancy in the list called. Short ly a f terward word came to the board that Cyril David Jenkins had not I entirely recovered from an appendicitis operation and Abbott's name replaced that of Jenkins, who will go with the third quota. Arthur Bennett Lee, certified for service, could not be found by the police officers today when they endeavored to serve a notice of call on him at the Washington rooming house. He was j seemingly unknown at this address. Ser- i geant J. V. Kelliher reported in writ- 1 ing to the mayor that Lee had claimed, when he registered, that he was born in Ogden and that, his home was 19oo Grant avenue. The police sergeant stated that he had found these statements state-ments were not correct, adding: "So therefore he did not confine himself him-self to the truth when he rejjstered." The case has been referred to the police department and the name of Louis Marangodanis has been selected to take the vacant place in the list for ; the 'quota. I |
