Show COLONEL BYRAM TO COMMAND AT PRISON Will Succeed Colonel Arthur Williams in Charge of the Wax Barracks. Colonel Arthur "Williams, who has been commandant of the war prison barracks at Fort Douglas since they were ordered established, will turn over the command this morning to Colonel George L. Byrum, who has been designated desig-nated by tho war department to assume com maud. Colonel Williams will leave within a few days i'or his home in Los Angeles, Cal., and report to the adjutant general of tho army for assigumcnt to other duties. The retiring commandant requested j the war department to relieve him from j further duty at the prison barracks here and to be assigned to some duty I in southern California if possible, so, he mighl be with his wife, who is un- nble to stand the climate in Salt Lake. : Colonel By rnni, who assumes formal 1 command of the Third war prison bar-rru-li s this morning, ra mo here from California a few days ago and has been familiarizing himself vith affairs uf tho prison camp. |
