Rrimley of Farmers' ward turn been appointed to aucceed James Pax ton as clerk of the Granite district. The patrons of the Rurton school district dis-trict turned out to the Farmers' ward amusement hall Friday night, when the Burton Bchool gave an excellent Christmas Christ-mas cantata for the purpose of raisiug money for a vietrola to be used in their school. The little play was a huge success, suc-cess, and all parents were pleased by the work of their children and showed a very appreciat ive spirit for tho effort ef-fort s of the principal and teachers. The Graniie district has been very unfortunate in losing one of its best teachers, Mrs. Eft'ie Van Cott Young. Mrs. Young has given up school work and is going to retire. She lately went to California where she expects to make her home in the future. Mrs. Zonette Smith has taken her place and will likely fill that position until the end of the school year. |
