Show CAST SELEGTEDFOR II SCHOOL M Close Contests Mark Trials for Various Roles in the West Side Drama. Interest at the West high school is turned toward dramatics. The Dramatic Dra-matic club has selected "Her Friend, the Eenemy,'' for reproduction. It is a play by Harry Van Demark concerning concern-ing civil war times. Last week tryouts were held for the ten characters. Seven were selected. Richard Polette won in the race for the role of Jack Fernhrook, the leading lead-ing man. Polette is president of the Dramatic club and has bad considerable experience. Miss Wary Johnson will be the leading lead-ing lady, Diana Burton. She is the president of the Girls ' Athletic asso-ciation. asso-ciation. Manno Alias will represent the vil-lian, vil-lian, Jack Fleming. Byron White will act as Berteley Burton while Roy Dun-das Dun-das has been selected as Lige, the negro servant. -Miss Louis Snyder took the character charac-ter of Addie Jenks, while Miss Caroline Caro-line McMurray will pose as Aunt Chloe. Both of these have had more or less work in dramatics and are expected to make a good showing. The remainder of the try outs., for Mrs. Burton, Colonel Burton and Vebi-diah Vebi-diah Burton, will take place this week. Miss Margaret MacVichie, Miss Frances Qualtrough, Miss Nellie Brown, Miss Ethel Connelly and L. Bailey1, teachers, were the judges. They will assist in putting on the play. |
