O'Connell, ' chairman of the state public utilities com- ! mission, after a long conference with Charles F. Clyne, United Stea district attorney. Chief of the reforms contemplated by the state commission, which has jurisdiction jurisdic-tion over the warehouses, is a time limit on nil food stored. "Storage warehouses which should be public benefactors have now become not so much a necessity to the public as a convenience to the speculators," said Mr. O'Connell. "We appreciate that the warehouses ware-houses make It possible to serve food out of season, but without warehouses food speculators could not operate." The state enm rntssion is co-operating with federal officials in the investigation and figures gathered by its men and testimony tes-timony taken in commission examinations are turned over to the United States district dis-trict attorney. |
