The one linn- j dred and twentj'-first general assembly j of the Presbj'terian church came to a j close this afternoon after a quiet ses- u sion, in which routine matters were disposed of and a vote of thanks extended ex-tended to Moderator Barkley and other officials of tho body. As was indicated by the opening action ac-tion of the assembly, the minority re- i port of the committee on church poli-t-, recommending that the reduction of representation in tho assembly be approached on a basis of church mem- j bership instead of the number of ministers, min-isters, was adopted, and the proposi- j tion will be cent back to the presby- i teries for action. Should this plan be accepted the presbyteries will, oe pfur-ther pfur-ther asked to ratify the proposition that 6000 communicants bo the basis of computation. t j In the morning session Atlantic City was decided upon the next place of meeting. . ; The committee on polity practically J dismissed James and Alexander White, A missionaries in China, because they j had criticised tho other missionaries, J who, it seems, were guilty of Tiothing i more worldly than plaj-ing tennis.
