Show IMPROVEMENT NOTED IN HEALTH SITUATION Number of Cases Drops From 64 to 41 ; Births Outnumber Deaths. Tho contngious aud infectious disease dis-ease situation in Salt Lake City for tho week ending Saturday shows a remarkable re-markable improvement in the weekly report of the board of health, submitted sub-mitted Snturdny. Tho number of cases dropped from sixty-four for the previous pre-vious woek to forty-one for the week just ended. The largest, decrease was in smallpox, small-pox, this contagion dropping from twenty-soven to six cases. Scarlot fever remnmod the snmc, eighteen cases being . reported each week. Tho rest of tho contngious and infectious diseases dis-eases reported the week just ended wero distributed as follows: Diphtheria, 4 5 tuberculosis, 1: moaslcs, 3; whooping cough, 7; chicken pox, 2, Forty-one houses are loft under quarantine quar-antine on nccounl, of scarlet fever, V on account of diphthorin and the same number on account of smallpox, whilo several cases of this contagion remain at the isolation hospital. Thore wore 51 births and only 21 deaths Of the births, 2S were boys and 23 girls. Of the deaths, 12 were males and 0 females. Six bodies were shipped hero for burial. |
