Show UNKNOWN MEXICAN IS SAVED FROM DROWNING Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, May 29. But for the prompt assistance of Patrolman John Cooney and Special Officer Shoemarker of tho Southern South-ern Pacific company, an unknown Mexican Mexi-can would have been drowned In Weber river, near tho Oregon Short Line bridge, this afternoon. Word reached the police station about t o'clock that a man was In the waters of the river. The officers went down and found the Mexican about a hundred vards below the bridge, clinging to the brandies of some trees overhanging the river. After several efforts tho rope was thrown to him and ho was pulled ashore. He was taken to the police station and revived. Tho Mexican had been drinking and while crossing the railroad bridge had fallen Into the stream. Ho was in tho water four hours before he was rescued. |
