Every one interested in indoor riile shooting is disappointed dis-appointed at the showing made- by tho American tonm against tho British and Australians in the three-cornered international inter-national indoor match with .22-cnlibcr rifles. It was a clean victory for the Englishmen, becauso the National Na-tional Rifle association took great pains ro select the best available shots in this country. The American team, however, was hurriedly got together, and in most instances the men shot without anv considerable systomatio preliminary" practice. They also used a stvlo of target with which many of them were unfamiliar. The match goes to show that at present, at least. England Eng-land shows a goatc development than America in holding, aiming and pulling, for which the ,22-calibor riflo is vcry valuablo as a means of instruction and practice. The defeat of the American team will undoubtedly tend to stimulato further tho general interest in this important im-portant feature of rifle practice, as tho match will be shot again next year and strenuous efforts will bo made to carry off the prize.
