The hurricane that has swept over ITayti has wrought immense damage, the extent of which it is as yet impossible impos-sible to dctormine, but up to the present time, no news has been received here of any serious loss of life. All telegraph communication between Port au Prince and tho towns in the northern part of the republic has been interrupted. Floods followed tho downpour down-pour aud added to the, loss. The steamer Allegheny, which has arrived ar-rived here, passed before Capo Hay-tien Hay-tien and Port de Paix. but could not communicate with tho land on account of the heavy sea.
