Mrs. Mary K Teats, national purity evangelist of the Women's Christian Temperance Union and the National Purity association, arrived in Salt Tjake City, Saturday' morning, and is delivering deliv-ering a number of lectures in this city on the work (o which she is devoted. de-voted. She is making a lour of fhe western slates in the interest of purity work. Under the auspices of the local W. C. T. Li., Mrs. Teals delivered a Icc-turo Icc-turo at the Central Christian church Saturday afternoon to a number of the members of that organization arid ladj frionds. Only ladies were admitted lo tho meeting. The lecture included an explanation ex-planation of the normal purity chart, Sho dealt largely with the proper bringing up of e&Udren and tho duty of parents. Her lecture was listened to very attentively by those prcsont, and her remarks wore of a helpful char-acler. char-acler. Mrs. Pred JonOs sang several selections. Saturday eveuiug IVIts. Teats delivered deliv-ered u lecture on "Tho Twentieth Century jMnn-'' to the soldiers at Fort Douglas. Sho urged upon her auditors tho necessity of living puro lives, incidentally in-cidentally taking up tho temperance question to a slight extent. This, Sunday, afternoon at 11:30 o'clock Mrs. Teats will deliver a lecture lec-ture lo the boys at fho Y. M. C. A., and sho will givo a public lecturo this evening at tho Phillips Congregational church. At all services collections are taken lo holp defray tho work in which Mrs. Teats is engaged.
