PliOVO, Nov. 13.-rSpanish Fork and Salem, two cities in the south cud of Utah countv, aro separated by about two miles o"f territory, but. tho people of theso two towns aro exactly oppo-silo oppo-silo in their views on Homo things. For a number of years Spanish Fork has been what is called an open saloon town aud during the samo time Salem has attempted to enforco prohibition. At; tho recent city elections the poo plo of Spanish Fork declared for prohibition pro-hibition and Salem voted in favor or the open saloon. The president of the town council of Salem, Mr. Bodoes, told the city authorities of Spanish Fork that 'for a number of years Salem had had the nuisanco of the liquor traffic traf-fic and Spanish Fork has received tho money, and they now proposed to reverse re-verse this order aud let Salem got the money and Spanish Fork the nuisanco nui-sanco of drunkenness. On January 1, 1!10, when the Provo city prohibition ordinnuco goes into effect, there will be opened up two saloons sa-loons just outside tho city limits on the north, one on tho county rond near t.ho Provo River bridge, tho other on the county road which leads to Olmstcnd and Provo canyon.
