Show 1 COUNTRY CLUB W. V. IToare, instructor at the Country Coun-try club, beat .Jack Piric in a match golf game for HO holes, S up and 7 to play, Saturdaj afternoon at the Country club. The weather was too cold for fust-class golf but tho contest proved interesting from boginning to end. Both players got a bad start but gradually warmed up to the game. Hoarc lost the first Imlo by 1 un. but broke even on the second hole. The players tied for the third Mid fourth and Honro Avon the fifth by 1 up, finishing the first round. 2 up. Honro finished the second round "i up and the third round 7 up. The 'ast round Avas started with 2 fours. At the hventy-ninth hventy-ninth hole Hoarc took .1 Avhilc Piric Avent out of bounds and took 7. Tho approach and putting of Hoarc was easily the featuro of rhe match. Piric Avas'short in hia work, but played a good up-hill game and looked dangerous danger-ous secral i iines near tho finish. |
