The opening of the Utah Stato Art Institute was held in the auditorium of 'the new. High school building tonight with a large number of interested spectators in attendance. at-tendance. The programme was opened with excellent; ex-cellent; .musical selections by Utah's well-known artists, Prof. Squire Coop, ProJ, Charles Kent and Mrs. 1'red Li. Clark. An address of welcome was delivered de-livered by J. M. Mills, superintendent of tho city schools, after which an informal reception was held and the pictures by Utah's artists on display wore inspected. in-spected.
