Dick Colburn, formerly of Salt Lake City, Is right In the swim at Goldllcld, and this week made another sale of some of his mining interests. Himself and associates associ-ates have sold tho G. A. n. claim to Messrs. Cleary and Harvey, acting for Patsy Clark and Maj. KIngsburg of Spokane. Tho G. A. II. claim Joints the Vernal No. 1 on tho west and la believed be-lieved to havo tho extension of tho lodge which Is showing up so wTcll In tho latter. Clark and Kingsbury, through their agents, have now secured a large acreage in this vicinity, and the development so far dono proves that It will become very valuable. A strike of good proportions Is reported re-ported from the lease of Sweeney, Hen-ncssy Hen-ncssy and Wlngfleld on tho Floronco claim. It will be remembered that this leaso got good ore a few Inches below the surface, but as sinking on the ledgo was slow and expensive, It was decided to sink through the porphyry on the footwall and crosscut. At the 50-foot point in tho shaft a crosscut proved the ledge to be S feet wldo and nssays show the average value to be 5200 to the ton. Fablus- M. Clarke, a prominent attorney attor-ney of New York, and A. E. Barnos of Philadelphia have bought the interest of Mac Wilson In the lease on the Florence, Flor-ence, which adjoins that of Sweeney and associates. Good values have been found on this lease, but It has not been opened up much as yet. Messrs. Clarke and Barnes have also let a contract to sink 50 feet on their leaso of the Pipe Dream Fraction, which lies north of the January claim. Harry Ramsey, one of the pioneers of the district and a heavy owner of properties prop-erties here, has returned from a three months', visit to California, and Is preparing pre-paring for active work on many claims. Ramsey, Hall and Crook have put men to work on the Hat claim of the Blue Bull group, who have already opened up ore which pans gold freely. Some of it shows the prettiest wire gold that has been seen In the district. The owners have also given a lease on the Blue Bull claim to Myers, Murphy, Forman and Hall, who promise to open up ore within with-in ten days. Myers and Murphy hare a largo number of valuable claims of their own and the fact that they have Interested themeelves In a lease on the Blue Bull shows that they have unusual un-usual confidence In the property. Briggs and associates have started work on their lease on the Adams claim. An average across -1 feet of the ledge on the surface showed values of ?15 to the ton. and the boys are satisfied they will strike pay ore. Edgar Collins, manager of the Combination, Com-bination, and C. F. Maunder have bonded the Brooklyn group of four claims from Seller, Richardson, Karacr und Cockburn. S. K. Bradford has Just como In from the copper properties 21 (miles south of Goldfleld, where he has finished surveying survey-ing the twenty claims In which himself und associates are interested. The reports re-ports from this section would indicate that it Is liablo to prove one of the big copper propositions of tho world. On one clam the cropplngs are the full width of the claim and apparently It Is one ledge. The cropplngs can be traced for three claims in length and the assays as-says go 11 to 32 per cent copper and $4 to $9. SO In gold per ton. Abundance of water can be had a short distance away, as well as a good supply of wood. |
