March C Joseph Odcll, Logan's Lo-gan's now postmaster, Is a purely Utah product, having first soon tho light of day In Ocdcn, March 15, 1S70. Ho came to Logan In ISM and engaged In the newspaper newspa-per business. Later ho attended tho Acrl-culLurnl Acrl-culLurnl college, after which ho bought out tho James T. Hammond book store. Mr. H. H. Thomas of Ogden Joined him. and they ran tho atoro In connection with a photojrraph gallery. In 1SSG tho part- t Joseph. Odell. I ncrshlp wan dissolved, tho book business closed out and Mr. Odoll devoted his tlmo to tho photograph business. In which ho has been eminently successful. Practically, he haB always been a Republican. Re-publican. Ho was In tho thick of tho fight in tho first city campaign, and helped out very materially in carrying tho city. In 1SP6 he served as city chairman, and In JJiM succeeded Mr. H. Bullen. Jr., aa tho county chairman, and tho brilliant victory he scored for hla party Is still fresh In the minds of tho people. The only recognition recog-nition ho has ever received, prior to his recent appointment, was that of docket clerk of tho Legislature In ISM Ho has boon sacrlilccd. along with others on Republican Re-publican tickets In Cache's county s Salmy Democratic days, and has twice cforo mado tho raco for postmaster, having hav-ing the machinery of the city, county and Stato behind him In ono instance, and then was defeated. IJo was foreman of tho Logan Nation when It mado Its first appearance, this being tho first Republican newspaper In tho county, and ho Is now president of tho Logan Newspaper company, through whose authority the Logan Republican Is issued. Mr. Odcll Is an enterprising and progressive pro-gressive citizen. Ho Is mild and modest In disposition, and makes friends among all classes. Hn has lately built a beautiful beauti-ful home on Center .street, whero, with his wlfo and family, he expecto to pass tho remainder of his days.
