Show AN OLD SETTLER BURIED, JOHN O'BRIEN AT LAYTON Special to Tho Tribune. LAYTON. Utah, March 5. Tho funeral fu-neral services over the remains of John O'Brien were held at 1 p. m. yesterday In the Layton meetlng-house. Despite the bad weather and worse roads a large number turned out to pay their respects to the deceased. Appropriate music was rendered by the Layton choir. The speakers who uttered words of eulogy for the departed and comfort for sorrowing sor-rowing relatives were: Je&se M. Smith, Alex Dawson, John W. Thornley, Henry Hobbs, William Murphy and William N Nalder. The deceased, who was born In 1S39, came to Utah as a teamster in Johnson's John-son's army in 1S58 and live years later married Angelino King From this union twelve children were born, ten boys and two girls. The wife, tho two daughters and six sons survive the father. Mr. O'Brien was a good neighbor and a man whoso bond was needless where his word was givent In educational matters he always evinced deep interest, as is shown by the advantages in this line he has given his familj. |
