Show I THE UTAH CON'S. WEALTH OF ORE Reserves, Greatest in Annals of Xlno, Now Estimated at No Less Than $25,000,000. "With the present output of Its valley I furnaces to be materially Increased with enlargements which are progressing to. a completion In June, there Is no reason why the Utah Con. of Bingham should not continue Its record of dividends, I said Manager R. H. Channlng on his i reappearance at the local offices of the company after several weeks In the East, yesterday morning, and while he positively declined to qIscum any possible pos-sible Increase In the distribution, an Increase In the earnings naturally begets such an expectation. Not only this, there " has never been a time when the stu pendous tonnages In the property were so great as are they at this period, and while the management has declined to release its totals, It Is no exaggeration to fix the value of reserves now literally blocked out at $25,000,000. All this, however, how-ever, is data that Manager Channlng 1ms reserved for his report, which will be spread before the shareholders of the Utah Con, at their annunl meeting In New York next month and that will be forwarded to every interest by President 1 Urban II. Broughton as has been tho i practice since the Inception of the splen did undertaking. That tho enlargement of the smelter, said Manager Channlng, will positively be completed as oehoduled, he has the assurance of every person engaged upon the work, and with the j advent of June the volume of ore re- I duced will havo been. Increased to at least 700 tons without Increased cost, al though tho Increased output will afford places for 150 more persons between the mines- and smelter. It Is after these enlargements shall have been achieved and the mines are permitted to accentuate accen-tuate their resources that Manager Channlng Is promised a visit from President Pres-ident Broughton and other officials. With others who have been East recently, re-cently, Mr. Channlng Is very much pleased with the manner In which the stocks from this Stato have deported themselves during the unsettled period , on the Boston stock exchange. Indeed, Utah Con. has been a bellwether during the tribulations of Amalgamated, while Its neighbors have given good account i of themselves. Mr. Channlng leaves for California this morning, whore he will Join Mrs, Channlng, who is now sojourning sojourn-ing along the Pacific's shores. |
