Show West , Bountiful By ALICE MITCHELL 295-1156 The Olympics in Innsbruck, i? Austria, are being followed in many homes. People are be-5f be-5f ing thrilled and "chilled" ' vicariously as they follow the action on television. The mountains are snow-packed and the slopes appear to be just right for skiing and other winter sports. The smaller villages near the village itself appear to be scenes from fairy tales. The new sports center is similar to many of the expectations enthusiasts have had for the future. j Actually, the entire Olym- j pic scene is reminescent of j life in our area. Monday and even the night before, the A town was almost like a giant 1 skating rink. It was i dangerous to walk on the 1 paths and streets and j traveling on the roads and highways was hazardous and almost impossible at times. One could skate right to his front door step. The mountains moun-tains were snow covered and the slopes were just right for the skiiers and sleigh riders. The David Davis' had a week of enjoying the slopes at Brighton. They found them just right for action. Even their young daughter asked for skiing equipment at her ( last birthday. Mike and Earl DeWall take time out to go skiing every chance they get. During the J week Carl and Sherry Page j and Myra and Johnny Salmon joined the throngs on the slopes. It was a change for j Carl and Sherry who have t been in Hawaii for the past 1 year and have been water ' skiing. j |
