Show OE DQteOlGP DQF'lOilQi In answer to many Queries during the year, the Bountiful Art center announces John Jams will be teaching the Watercolor Workshop spring quarter. Mr. Jams, a well-known well-known Utah watercolorist will bring to his students an extensive background in an. both academic and professional. profes-sional. MR. JARVIS attended Snow College on an an scholarship and continual his education at Utah State University, graduating in 1971 with a minor in an. He has done graduate work in an at BYU and since 1972 has been practicing commercial art. Mr. Jams will be commuting from Lehi. where he lives with his wile. Knsty. and their year-old daughter. Cally. John has received numerous awards for his work including a first place award in the Utah State Fair. He has participated in the Springville Open and has exhibited at the Salt Lake An Center. Last year he exhibited with the American water-color water-color Society in New York and some of his work was in their travelling exhibit. JOHN plans to introduce dry brush to his classes because he feels it is a valuable valua-ble technique which is not given the attention it deserves. The watercolor workshop will be held on Wednesdays. 5-8 p.m. and Saturdays. 10-3 p.m.. May 26 through June 12. For ciass schedules please contact the Center at Sl-wa). Those interested in seeing Mr. Jams' work are invited to visit an exhibit of his paintings, opening February 18 at the Tivoli Gallery, 3.11 South Main in Salt Lake. Diane Shaw, instructor in ceramics will present a slide lecture covering historical examples and techniques of pottery, showing some very . very old pots up to and including current work by contemporary potters, Interested pollers who are not enrolled in Diane's classes are invited lo attend the lec-lure lec-lure for a fee of $1 50 The lecture will be at the Art Center. 2175 South Main in Bountiful.
