Show Centierville By LYDIA KILPACK 295-0021 Conscience doesn't stop you from doing wrong, but it sure takes all the fun out of it. The ground hog sure wasn't wrong, was he? Winter lost no time in staging a quick return, re-turn, but February is a short month and spring has to be around the comer. FRIDAY the 6th of February was the wedding day of Vivian Carr and Mark Giles. After the ceremony the newly married couple greeted guests at an open house held at the home of Mrs. Dorothy Streeper. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Carr. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. William D. Giles, all of Centerville. MRS. BONNIE Evensen and her daughter Chris motored mo-tored to Laramie, Wyoming, the home of Bonnie's son, Michael Evensen and his 1 family. They arrived in Laramie in time to see the new baby there blessed and given the name of Kathryn Dee. They enjoyed visiting with the parents and 4 sisters and 2 brothers of the new baby before returning home. Mrs. Rhoda Burton enjoyed attending an award banquet and ceremony at which her grandson, Jeff Steadman received the award of an Eagle Scout. Jeff is the son of Rex and Mable Steadman. The banquet was held in the Sixth Ward Chapel on Saturday, Satur-day, Feb. 7. GERTRUDE Madsen had the misfortune to fall and suffer a sprained knee. She has been confined to her home with her knee in a cast but has been well taken care of by her two sisters from California. Califor-nia. They are Mrs. Unity Bazar from Pleasanton, Calif and Mrs. Miriam Barlow 0 Garden Gove, Calif. Rodney and Joanne Jackson Jack-son enjoyed a trip to McGill, Nevada last week where they visited with their cousin R. Dale Jackson, his wife and their two children. DAVID and Mary Sue Gold and their two daughters have moved from the Second Ward to their new home in the Fourth Ward. Wishes for a speedy recovery are extended at this time to Mrs. Lois Flake who recently underwent surgery 1 in the Bountiful hospital. ROBERT and Dee Ann Talbot Tal-bot are parents of a new little son born on January 15, weighing 7 pounds, 9 ounces. His name is John Andrew and his grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Petty of Ogden and Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Talbot of Pocatello, Ida. Brent-and Julie Ann Hill are also parents of a new little son. He was born Tuesday,' January 27 in the Bountiful Hospital. STEVEN and Maria Carleen also have a new little son. He was born on Sunday, Feb. 1, weighing 9 pounds, 6 ounces. His name is Anthony Clark and his grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Carlsen, Salt Lake City and Mrs. Gaye Pearson, also of Salt Lake City. Marlow and Leone Fisher drove to Orderville, Utah over the weekend where they visited with Marlow's brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Fisher, who were celebrating their 50th wedding wed-ding anniversary. MINI CLASSES started in the 8th Ward Relief Society on Tuesday, February 10. Classes were given in Brazilian embroidery by Jorene Tanner, in wood finishing by Martin Knutesen, in hair cutting and styling by Olivia King, in macrame by Shirley Worsley, making of pants for men by Dolores Van Wagoner, and crocheting, by Carol Jensen. Work Director is Willa Wiley. A delicious lunch was enjoyed following the classes. |
