By DAVE WIGHAM The Bountiful South Stake Primary will present its Bicentennial program on Friday, Feb. 20 beginning at 7 p.m. in the Regional Center. THE PROGRAM is a patriotic pa-triotic salute to this great nation na-tion that we live in. Different musical selections and skits will be provided by the children from the Primary organization. Every child in the Bountiful South Stake has the opportunity oppor-tunity to participate in this program, according to Mrs. Williams, the stake's publicity chairman for the program. Over 800 children will take part in the program. JOYCE SHAUN is the director of the program, and along with others has put in long hours of hard work to get the program organized. The project was started when the challenge was made by Naomi M. Shumway of the General Primary Presidency. "The bicentennial year is a great opportunity for children to leam of their heritage and to feel a sense of gratitude to their Heavenly Father for this land of liberty". THE STAKE has accepted this challenge and answered it with this program which is free and open to anyone who wishes to attend. The Primary presidency of the stake, Evlynn Beck, Dixie Allen, and Lynn Lundquist, thank all those involved with the program and urge all patriots pa-triots to come and celebrate the birth of the nation with this salute. EACH CHILD will carry an American flag, which alone took months to locate. At the conclusion of the program the child will be able to keep the flag. The program itself will also include a display of historical flags as well as the singing of the nation's favorite songs. |
