Show Search & Rescue members attend scuba training Three members of the Uintah County Sheriff's Department and two members mem-bers of the USCO Search and Rescue unit recently attended and certified in scuba diving training. The course was held off the coast of San Clemente Island in California. According to Detective Larry Crowl, to certify a total of 230 training hours were spent by the five men, which included Corporal Crowl, Deputies Manuel Cantu and Wayne Hollebeke of the Sheriffs office; Douglas Timothy and Mike Knibbe of the Search and Rescue Patrol. "We went at our own expense," stated Crow 1, "but the time and money were well spent. We feel the training will enhance our recovery service, as far as drowning incidents and underwater un-derwater searches are concerned. We , certified in night diving and open water diving. At this point, we are contemplating con-templating additional training in advanced ad-vanced body search and recovery, open water diving and ice diving." The officers and their wives were housed on the Sand Dollar out of San Diego during the training. |
