Show Science students win at Fair Showing they can apply what they've learned in their science classes, students from Uintah School District walked away from the Salt Lake Metropolitan Science Fair with three trophies and four first place ribbons. Trophy winners from Vernal Junior High were: Wayne Rust, 9th grade; Robin Langley and Colt Mortensen, 8th grade. Winning first place ribbons were Marjean Oviatt, Eric Dethlefsen and Donnie Gragert from the high school and Jennifer Amodt and Jennie Karren from the junior high. They competed against over 475 projects in the Biological and Physical Sciences. The trophy winning projects were: "The Effects of Gravity on Plants", "The Effects of Various Substances on Teeth", and "Which Wood Burns Best". |
