Our hitting wasn't sharp." stated Patterson. "Sammaripa did a good job on the mound." Sammaripa pitched seven innings, struck out nine, walked three, allowed three hits and one run. Union had four hits in the game. Acord was 2 for 3 and Trow bridge. Buchanan and Sammaripa were 1 for 3. Jubal Anderton was 1 for 2. Union had hitting problems in the first game, but they had even more baseball slugging problems in the second se-cond contest as they gained only three hits in a 5-1 loss to Wasatch. The Cougars were still in the ball game after five innings of action as the contest was tied up at 0-0. However, the Wasps ended their scoring drought as they stung Union for five counters in the top of the sixth inning for a 5-0 lead. Captain singled and .Mair was walked.
