Show Energy program may assist with high heat bills The Utah Home Energy Assistance Program may have help for you and your high heat bills. Energy Assistance is designed to assist the eligible households to meet the rising costs of home energy. Energy Assistance is not a welfare program. It is a Federally Funded Assistance Program that is operating through and using the facilities of the State Department of Social Services. Any household in Utah is eligible to apply as the assistance is computed according to the income of all household members over 18 years of age, the climate where you live, the type of fuel you use, and your household size. Benefits are available to all eligible persons without regard to race, color, sex, age, handicap, national origin or political belief. If you are unable to apply in person due to health reasons or a rural location, we will send someone to your home or mail an application ap-plication to you. To apply for help, please call 789-5850 for Energy Assistance or come to our office at 1052 West Market Drive to compute household income for the past three or past twelve months.
