Show "Spacemobile" Visits CSU Friday, June 14 The National Aeronautics Spacemoblle, a traveling science lecture demonstration unit, will visit Cedar City Friday, June 14. It will be sponsored by the College Col-lege of Southern Utah and will be presented from 10 a. m. to 12 noon and from 5 to 6 p. m. in front of the CSU science center. The Spacemoblle is operated by NASA to acquaint communl-ties communl-ties with the ktinrp sciences as they relate to America's space program. The demonstration is operated all over the world and is contained in panel trucks that are driven by the science lecturers, lectur-ers, all of whom are experienced experienc-ed educators. The space demonstrations demon-strations last about 50 minutes and run the gamut from the principles of propulsion to the intricacies of Inter planetary travel. tra-vel. Subjects include explanations of satellites, what makes them orbit, what keeps the mafloat, what good is derived from space exploration,, and what NASA's programs enlaj. These same space science demonstrations were among the top attractions at the Seattle World's Fair in 1962. The Spacemobila contains materials ma-terials and equipment to show the basic principles upon which space exploration depends and how these principles axe applied by NASA for peaceful purposes. The senior lecturer during this series of presentations is Bernard Ber-nard M. Donahue,, a'- naitive of Michigan and a snaCtmobfle lecturer lec-turer for the NA2A!. sinew January Janu-ary " 19C2. He received a B.A. degree from the University of Michigan and master's degree from San Jose State College. He has also studied at the University Univer-sity of California,. Boston- College, Col-lege, San Francisco State College Col-lege and at Colorado State, St Louis and Loyola Universities. |
