Show What's Happening in Escalante Valley Bf Georgia H. Moyl Miriam McGarry presented her piano students in recital this week with the following students participating: Jimmy Butler, Joan Brrkn. Chrln Pnllnrk. Kent Holt, Patsy Bracken, Joelyn Holt, Pat Del Vecchio, Sharon Jolley, Sandra Pollock, Janet Laub, Joe Ann DelVecchio, Gay-lene Gay-lene Hunt, Marita Hunt, Johnny Butler, and Marlene Jolley. Each of these students presented three numbers. A special feature of the recital was the presentation of the ttCMga Jrom Piano Concerto No. 1 WMAJu' Tchaikowsky, played by ajrtea Hunt and Marita Hunt. WOMEN'S ACTIVITY The last mooting of the Escalante Esca-lante Valley Women's Club was hdld at the Alfred Pedersen home with Mrs. Doris Pedersen as hostess hos-tess and Jeanor Whitelaw co-hostess. co-hostess. Following business a special feature of the evening was the Medical Self-Help eight weeks course, discussed and ex-tjaineu ex-tjaineu by ihe past years flA president, Mrs. Ellen Clark. This course will start in the valley this fall with the date to be announced an-nounced later. LIONS CLUB The Escalante Valley Lions an-nounce an-nounce their regular Ladies' Night Banquet on June 15th at the College of Southern Utah Student Center. WHAT'S HAPPENING Mr. and Mrs. Ray V. Hunt are happy to announce the arrival of a new grandson, born to their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Abbis of Las Vegas, Nevada. Mrs. Abbiss, sis ter, Miss Lucille Hunt, who has been teaching school at Pan-guitch Pan-guitch the past season. Is staying stay-ing with them in Las Vegas for a while to help out with the other two children. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Hestor and small son Steven from California, Califor-nia, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph D. Gardner and daughters Elizabeth Eliza-beth and Katherine of Murray, Utah, spent a few days the last of May and the 1st. of June with their parents, the Ralph Gardners. Gard-ners. Mrs. Heber Wayne Holt, and four children Joelyn, Kevin, Kim, and Clayton spent a week or more visiting in Salt Lake City with her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Est es and family. They have a new baby boy. Mrs. Holt and children also visited wun ner parents, Air. ana Airs. Grant Snow and brother Richard and family of Delta. Stanley Hunt and five of his children from Magna recently visited with his folks, the Ray V. Hunt family. Mr. and Mrs. Paris Robinson of the San Francisco Bay area spent a few days visiting with friends and relatives at Enterprise and Escalante Valley. Mrs. Robinson Is a sister of Mrs. Jack Moyle. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Bracken plan to live at the Marlon Beck trom home In the valley until un-til time for school this fall. Mar vln has signed a contract to I teach at Holbrook, Arizona. |
