Butler, of Cedar City, was commissioned in exercises ' held by the AK ROTC at Brig-I Brig-I ham Young University Friday, May 31, He is one of the two j cadets who was selected as a I distinguished graduate based up- on his scholastic attainment and i the high caliber of his perform-1 perform-1 ance in the responsible cadet ; leadership position he held. He ' has graduated from the college of fine arts with an academic j major In commercial art. He is i being assigned to pilot training I at William Air base in Arizona, j He was commissioned along I with 16 other graduates. Seven 1 will enter flying school for one I year of pilot training. After re-5 re-5 ceiving their wings they will be 5 assigned to flying units around '-' the world. Then ten new non-j non-j flying lieutenants will enter ac-h ac-h tive duty almost immediately. The lieutenants then go to duties as such places ac Cape Canav-j Canav-j eral, the Space Research Center I at Sunnyvale, Calif, and the j Computor Center at Wright-Pat-j terson AFB, Ohio. Two are going ! directly to assignments in Europe. Eu-rope.
